Rebecca Eissler
Dr. Rebecca Eissler is an associate professor in the Department of Political Science. She teaches classes in American politics, specifically the president and Congress, and research methods. Her research interests include American institutions and public policy, with an emphasis on the presidency, agenda setting, and information processing. Dr. Eissler’s publications include “The Trump Legislative Agenda in its Historical Context” in The Unorthodox Presidency of Donald Trump and has published articles in American Politics Review, Acta Politica, and The Agenda Setting Journal. She also serves as a subject matter expert for the media and has been quoted in The San Francisco Chronical and The Globe and Mail, as well as appear on NBC Bay Area New, KTVU Fox 2 News, and the Australian Broadcasting Company. She earned her doctorate in government from the University of Texas at Austin, where she served as project manager of the U.S. Policy Agendas Project.
