Amanda Roberti is the newest Assistant Professor of Political Science at San Francisco State University where she teaches courses on gender and politics, and the politics of sex and reproduction. Prior to joining the faculty at SFSU, Dr. Roberti spent the previous three years in New Jersey where she taught political science and public policy courses at Ramapo College. She earned her PhD in Political Science (Rutgers University, 2017) with a concentration in Women’s and Gender Studies. She has expertise in federal and state legislation related to reproductive politics, having developed a database tracking and substantively analyzing every bill related to abortion introduced in all 50 US states from 2008 to the present. Her article entitled 'Women Deserve Better:' The Use of the Pro-Woman Frame in Antiabortion Policies in US States is forthcoming in the Journal of Women, Politics & Policy. Dr. Roberti has received the 2018 Carrie Chapman Catt Prize for Research on Women in Politics honorable mention from the Carrie Chapman Catt Center at Iowa State University for her work on the rhetorical strategies of antiabortion women lawmakers. Dr. Roberti is also Co-Director of The Informed Consent Project, a collaborative project that assesses the medical accuracy of state mandated informed consent literature. Explore more of this work at
