Biography

Jason McDaniel is an Associate Professor of Political Science at San Francisco State University. Professor McDaniel specializes in urban politics and voting behavior, with a particular emphasis on the influence of contextual effects on political behavior. His current research projects include an exploration of racial contextual effects on voter turnout in San Francisco mayoral elections, an analysis of vote disqualifying ballot errors in San Francisco elections using Instant-Runoff Voting, and an analysis of the ways that neighborhood context influences vote choice.
